How to choose the right paint
Water based paints (acrylics) are the most commonly used. Acrylic paints have a number of advantages over oil based paints. Drips and splashes can be removed with a wipe of a damp cloth and when the job is done, brushes and rollers can be cleaned in water.
How to cut in
Prepping can be a pain.
However, if you want a truly professional looking finish, the better you prep, the better the overall result.
One area where you can reduce effort is masking. Applying masking tape to doors, trims & mouldings is handy but ultimately optional. The same results can be achieved by simply learning the professional technique of ‘cutting in’.
